Quick answer
Deliver wedding photos and videos as clearly labelled final files, share a HeftySend link with a collection deadline, and ask the couple to confirm that they have downloaded a usable copy. Agree which photographs, films and extras are included before uploading. A preview is useful for looking; it is not the couple’s saved archive.
The wedding may be over, but the handover still needs care. A couple returning from their honeymoon should be able to tell which film to play, which photographs to keep and when the delivery link expires. This guide is about finished wedding deliverables, rather than camera originals for another editor.
What belongs in the final wedding delivery?
Include the finished photographs and videos you agreed to supply, with a short contents note. Do not assume that “all our photos” means every camera file, rejected frame or editing project.
- Final photographs: identify the finished collection and its image count. If you supply separate print and sharing versions, label their purpose clearly.
- Wedding films: distinguish the highlight film, full ceremony and speeches when those are included. Use descriptive names instead of several files called final.
- Agreed extras: list any slideshow, captions or album selection instructions separately.
- Contents note: state what is included, the total download size, collection deadline and contact details for a problem.
Keep a simple local preparation structure such as Photos, Films and Read Me. This is an organisational suggestion, not a promise that a particular upload method preserves every folder. Inspect the recipient page before sending it. If another professional needs the camera originals, use our separate RAW photo handover guide.
How large will the wedding package be?
Measure the complete prepared package rather than estimating from the number of pictures. Videos, duplicate export sets and archives all contribute to the total.
For an illustrative delivery, 600 finished photographs averaging 8 MB each total about 4.8 GB in decimal units. Add an 8 GB film and the package is about 12.8 GB before notes or extra exports. Those are example sizes, not a measured wedding or a recommended export setting.
HeftySend’s live upload page and pricing page, checked on 8 October 2026, list up to 100 GB per free transfer and three days of availability. The example fits that size allowance, but the collection window must suit the couple too. Larger capacity does not mean the upload will finish instantly.
How do you send the finished files with HeftySend?
Upload the prepared final files, wait for completion and inspect the resulting recipient link before sharing it with the couple.
- Open the finished photos and films locally and check the contents note against the actual files.
- Visit HeftySend’s upload page and choose the files for this delivery.
- Keep the upload page open until the transfer has completed. Allow time for your connection to upload the entire package.
- Open the recipient link and check filenames, supported previews and the displayed expiry.
- Send the link with a clear collection message, then ask for confirmation after the couple saves the files.

The first transfer tutorial explains the account workflow. Standard recipients do not need a HeftySend account to download. HeftySend does not charge for bandwidth usage, so the service does not add a bandwidth bill when the couple collects the files.
When should you send the link?
Send it when the couple has time, a suitable connection and space to collect the delivery. Ask first if they are travelling or away on honeymoon.
A three day link sent just before a week away is the wrong collection window, even if the files fit comfortably. Arrange a later send or choose a paid plan with longer availability. Premium currently lists up to 1 TB per transfer and 365 days with included storage; check the actual expiry you select rather than promising the maximum automatically.
Paid HeftySend plans also offer custom download pages. A recognisable background, colours and short welcome message can make the delivery feel like part of your photography or film service. Keep the instructions easy to find.

If you choose your own S3 storage, the provider can charge separately for storage, requests or delivery. Those costs are separate from HeftySend’s no bandwidth charge policy. Own storage is optional for Premium and Ultra and required for Lifetime.
Should the couple download everything as a ZIP?
Use the collection method that fits the package and the recipient’s device. HeftySend’s Download All ZIP option is capped at 10 GB per transfer. Above that cap, plan individual downloads from the same page.
The 12.8 GB example fits the free transfer allowance but exceeds that generated ZIP limit. Explain the distinction before the couple expects one Download All archive. If you prepare your own archive, check its contents locally and make sure the recipient understands how to open it and has enough space.
For a large permanent collection, a computer may be easier than a phone. If the couple uses an iPhone, link them to our iPhone photo collection guide. Apple’s download location instructions explain where Safari downloads appear in Files.
This short Apple Support video shows how to find downloaded files on an iPhone or iPad. It is a general device demonstration, not a HeftySend transfer test.
What should the delivery message say?
State what is ready, how much space it needs, when to collect it and how to confirm receipt. Adapt this example to the actual files and expiry:
Your wedding photographs and film are ready. This delivery contains 600 finished photographs and one highlight film, about 12.8 GB altogether. Please download the files before the expiry shown on the page: [date, time and time zone].
You can preview supported files on the page, but please download and save the originals we supplied. This collection is above the Download All ZIP limit, so use the individual download options. A computer with enough free space is a good place to keep the complete collection.
Please check the photo count and play the downloaded film, then reply to confirm that you have a usable copy. If anything fails, send me the filename and error message. Let me know before the deadline if you need a different collection time.
What should happen after collection?
Ask the couple to confirm that the downloaded files open and that the expected items are present. An upload completion message or a viewed preview does not establish that they have saved the complete delivery.
Keep your own originals and backups according to the retention arrangement you made with the couple. Explain that arrangement separately from the transfer expiry. A temporary link is a delivery method, not the only archive of their wedding.
Frequently asked questions
Should I include the camera RAW files?
Only if they are part of the agreed delivery. Finished wedding photographs and camera originals serve different purposes. Clarify the request before adding files that need specialist editing software.
Can the couple receive the files without paying?
Yes. A standard HeftySend recipient does not need a paid plan or an account. The sender chooses a plan that fits the transfer size, expiry and features.
Can I send photographs and films in the same transfer?
Yes. Check the total size and label each deliverable clearly. Separate transfers can be useful if the photographs and films become ready at different times, but explain which link contains what.
Does watching the preview save the wedding film?
No. Ask the couple to download the supplied film and open the saved copy. Supported browser previews help identify content but do not replace the final downloaded file.
What if the couple cannot download before expiry?
Arrange another collection time or a suitable longer availability plan. Keep your source copy so you can prepare a fresh delivery if needed; do not promise that an expired link can always be recovered.
Should I share the link directly with wedding guests?
Agree the intended recipients with the couple first. Their delivery may include private moments or files they do not want circulated. Make a separate agreed selection if they want a guest collection.
Make the final handover easy
Give the couple one clear explanation of their finished files, enough time to collect them and a way to ask for help. Start with HeftySend Free, then choose paid customisation or a longer collection window when the delivery needs it.
