Download big transfers reliably
Paste a HeftySend link, pick a folder, and the desktop app downloads all the files in a transfer in one click without zipping. Downloads resume after a dropped connection and every file is verified against its checksum.

No account needed. The app only ever downloads: it cannot send, delete or change a transfer.
Built for the transfers a browser struggles with
The download page is great for a few files. For dozens of them, or files measured in hundreds of gigabytes, the desktop app is the dependable route.
Every file in one go
Paste the link once and the app fetches the whole transfer into the folder you choose. No clicking through files one by one and no waiting for a ZIP to be built.
Resumes where it stopped
Connection dropped or the laptop went to sleep? The app picks each file up from the last byte it saved instead of starting over.
Verified, not just downloaded
Each file is checked against the checksum HeftySend recorded at upload, so you know what landed on disk is exactly what was sent.
No zipping
Zipping a big transfer in the browser is slow, and on very large transfers it can run out of memory or fail partway through. The app skips it entirely: files land in your folder as-is, with nothing to extract afterwards.
Three steps, no setup
Install the app
Grab the build for your computer above and open it. No account needed. The app only ever downloads.
Paste the HeftySend link
Copy the download-page link you were sent and paste it into the app. Protected transfers ask for the password here.
Pick a folder
Choose where the files should go. The app downloads everything, verifies each file and tells you when it is done.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a HeftySend account?
No. The desktop app is for recipients: it opens any HeftySend download link and never asks you to sign in.
Does it run on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs?
Yes. There is one macOS download and it runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1 and later) and Intel Macs alike, so there is nothing to choose.
What happens if my connection drops halfway?
Nothing is lost. The app keeps what it has already saved and resumes each unfinished file from where it stopped as soon as you are back online.
How does the app verify files?
HeftySend records a checksum for every uploaded file. After each download the app recomputes it locally and compares; a mismatch is reported instead of being silently kept.
Does it work with password protected transfers?
Yes. Paste the link as usual, enter the password the sender gave you, and the app downloads the files exactly like the browser page would.
Is there a Linux version?
Not yet. Linux recipients can still download every transfer from the browser page, including the Download All option.
Got a HeftySend link waiting?
Install the app, paste the link and let it bring every file home, however big the transfer.
