What if the upload is slow or gets stuck?
First check your upload speed, which can be much lower than the download speed advertised by your internet provider. Pause other large uploads, use a reliable connection and keep the browser open. A wired connection can help when wireless reception is poor.
Check whether the original file opens locally. If a tiny test file also fails, note the error message and consult HeftySend’s upload troubleshooting. Frequently asked questions
Do I have to compress the files first?
No. Upload the files directly when they fit the allowance. A ZIP is useful for packaging a folder, but it is not required for every delivery.
Will a ZIP make a large MP4 much smaller?
Often it will not, because the video is already compressed. Use a service with enough capacity if you need to preserve the original export.
Can I share the link in a messaging app?
Yes. Paste the completed transfer link into your message. Make sure you share it only with the intended recipients.
Can I close my laptop after choosing the files?
Wait until the upload finishes and you have the transfer link. Closing the tab or allowing the device to sleep can interrupt the upload.
What happens when the link expires?
